6.5. Applying starting parameters

The AnyCam.exe application startup file can be launched with parameters that modify the application's behavior. An example of such a launch line: AnyCam.exe -c 12 -p 0,0,800,600 -v

This line will launch the application in the camera demo mode with ID 12, the window will be set to 800 x 600 pixels in size, it will be located in the upper left corner of the monitor (position x = 0, y = 0), the user will only have access to online viewing, without the ability to edit camera properties or manually start recording and without access to the video archive:

Full list of valid parameters:

-t — always on top

-f — full-screen mode

-r — automatically start recording

-u — read-only mode: the user cannot edit camera and application properties, but can only view, record, and view the video archive

-w — Video Wall mode

-m — One-to-Many mode

-q — Slideshow mode

-c camera_id — start online viewing for the camera with the specified ID

-c camera1_id,camera2_id,…,cameraN_id — launches the application with the user-specified set of cameras

-a camera_id — start viewing the camera archive with the specified ID

-p x,y,width, height — launch the application window in the specified position and size

-v — launch the application in viewing mode, without access to viewing the video archive and the camera properties editing panel

-s — allows the use of space around the camera image to maintain the specified resolution in Video Wall and One-to-Many modes

-d n — acceptable response timeout from the camera, in seconds (maximum 60). If no new frames are received within this time, the connection is considered lost

-h — start the application minimized in the system tray. Also enables minimize-to-tray behavior on window close

-e — allow the computer to go to sleep. Without this parameter, AnyCam prevents the system from sleeping while it is running

To apply a launch modifier, simply add it after AnyCam.exe

For example, the command

AnyCam.exe -c 28

starts viewing the stream from camera number 3.

The camera number can be found in its properties panel:

Another option is to create a desktop shortcut with the necessary modifiers. For detailed information on creating a shortcut, see Section 6.4.
