How do I start AnyCam on Windows boot and minimize to tray?

To have AnyCam start automatically when Windows starts:

  1. Open the application settings.

  2. Go to the Startup tab.

  3. Enable the option Run AnyCam automatically when Windows starts.

To minimize to the system tray instead of closing:

  1. Go to the Advanced tab.

  2. Enable the option When closing the application, minimize to System Tray.

The system tray is the area next to the clock. If the application window disappears but the AnyCam icon is visible in the tray, the application is still running in the background.

How do I run multiple instances of the application?

To run different sets of cameras simultaneously:

  • Enable the option Allowed to run multiple instances of the application in the Startup tab of the application settings.

  • Launch the application under different Windows user accounts. To do this, hold Shift and right-click the AnyCam shortcut, then select "Run as different user."

Note: each instance uses its own configuration, stored in the respective user's profile.

What does the lock icon next to the camera address mean?

A lock icon in the address bar indicates that the username or password you entered for the camera is invalid. The camera is rejecting the connection due to incorrect credentials. Double-check the username and password in the camera's settings panel.

How do I set custom tile sizes?

By default, AnyCam automatically calculates tile sizes to maximize screen coverage. To set them manually:

  1. Open the application settings.

  2. Disable automatic tile size calculation.

  3. Enter the desired width and height for each tile.

This allows you to fit camera images to your monitor at specific dimensions.

How do I rearrange cameras on the grid?

You can drag and drop camera tiles to rearrange them. Simply click and hold a tile, drag it to the desired position, and release. The new position is saved automatically.

What camera view modes are available?

AnyCam offers several camera view modes:

  • Single — view one camera at a time.

  • Video Wall — all cameras displayed in a grid, filling the screen.

  • One-to-Many — one large camera view with smaller thumbnails.

  • Slideshow — automatic rotation between cameras.

Use the pop-up bar in the lower left corner of the screen to switch between modes:

Video Wall mode displays all cameras in an equal grid:

One-to-Many mode shows one large camera view with smaller thumbnails on the side:

Slideshow mode automatically rotates between cameras:

In any of these modes, you can open the window to full screen. If you see only one camera and want to go back to the grid view, press the "Back" button (left arrow) to exit single mode.

How do I use read-only mode?

Read-only mode restricts the user to viewing cameras only — they cannot change settings, start recordings, or access the video archive. To enable it:

  • Use the command-line parameter -u when launching AnyCam.

  • Or use the -v parameter to restrict access to camera viewing only (no archive access).

This is useful for setting up a public display or a monitor station where users should not modify any configuration.
