Camera stopped connecting after a router restart
If your camera suddenly stops working in AnyCam, the most likely cause is that the router has assigned it a new IP address. This happens when the router uses dynamic IP assignment (DHCP) — after a router restart, firmware update, or power outage, cameras may receive different IP addresses than the ones previously configured in AnyCam.
To fix this, follow the steps below.
Step 1: Find the new IP address of your camera
Open a web browser and go to your router's settings page. The address is usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 (check the label on your router for the exact address).
Log in with your router's administrator credentials.
Look for a section called Connected Devices, DHCP Client List, Device Table, or similar.
Find your camera in the list and note its current IP address.
Step 2: Update the IP address in AnyCam
Open AnyCam and click the gear icon on the camera tile to open its settings.
In the Path / URL field, replace the old IP address with the new one found in the router.
For example, if the previous address was:
rtsp://192.168.0.100:554/stream1
and the camera is now at 192.168.0.105, change it to:
rtsp://192.168.0.105:554/stream1
Click Save and verify that the camera connects successfully.
Step 3: Prevent this from happening again
To ensure the camera always keeps the same IP address, set up a DHCP reservation (also called static DHCP or IP address reservation) on your router:
Open your router's settings page (as in Step 1).
Find the DHCP Reservation, Static DHCP, or Address Reservation section (usually under LAN Settings or Advanced Settings).
Select your camera from the list of connected devices and assign it a fixed IP address.
Save the settings and restart the camera.
After this, the router will always assign the same IP address to the camera, even after restarts or power outages.
If you are unable to access your router's settings page, try using a network scanning tool (such as Advanced IP Scanner or Fing) to discover devices on your local network and find the camera's current IP address.
